With Thanksgiving day quickly approaching, you might be reflecting on everything you’re grateful for this year. You might also be thinking about ways that you can give back to others who may not be as fortunate. Enter: the Fairfax Turkey Trot. Now in its 9th year, the race is returning to its typical in-person format this year—and it’s all for a good cause.
Funds raised by the Fairfax Turkey Trot contribute to a local nonprofit called Britepaths. The name is fitting since the organization helps local families in need in various ways, from promoting financial literacy to helping with employment and supporting their children’s needs. If this sounds like a cause you can get behind, register for the Fairfax Turkey Trot and head to Mantua bright and early on Thanksgiving morning. The four-mile race kicks off promptly at 9 a.m. and snakes throughout residential neighborhoods, where friends and family members will line the streets to cheer you on! Once you complete the race, you’ll have preemptively burned off all of that pumpkin pie—and you’ll go into your Thanksgiving knowing you helped others in need.
